Running a sole proprietorship (JDG) and invoicing a client (B2B) is very popular, especially in IT. Banks accept this income, but with a few conditions.
How long must the business exist?
Usually at least 12 months; some banks require 24 months. The clock starts from the registration of the business in CEIDG.
How banks calculate income
- Flat-rate tax (ryczałt) or tax card: the bank typically uses revenue minus the tax and a cost factor.
- Linear or scale taxation: income is based on the tax return (PIT) and current-year results.
Because of this, the same invoices can give a different creditworthiness depending on the tax form.
Documents
- confirmation of business registration,
- tax returns for the last year(s),
- certificates of no arrears with the tax office and ZUS,
- bank statements showing payments from clients.
Tips
- Keep business and private finances on separate accounts – it makes the analysis easier.
- Avoid a sudden drop in income in the months before applying.
- A long-term contract with a client strengthens the application.
Choose "Own business / B2B" in the calculator to see which banks accept your history length.
